When demoing to the University of Toronto, they asked if the messaging feature could be toggled off so students do not have the option to message employers. The reason would be if they had a large number of groups working with one employer and wanted to prevent too many messages send to the employer. The employer, in their case, would be a major partner that they would invite on via the private marketplace so the relationship is important.

Thomas Doherty Michael Weber We have added this to the product backlog - we will be looking into the ability to turn chat on/off, but likely not pursuing the ability to limit the number of messages sent.

Ability for Educator Admin on Experience to control when and how often students/teams message employers
Thomas Doherty
Some professors are worried that their employer contacts get bombarded by students teams messaging in the platform, it would be beneficial if there was a toggle to enable / disable messages from student to employer or otherwise control the rate and ability that students can send DMs to employers once matched in a team/project.
For example it could be controlled in Experience settings to be disabled at first, and enabled for the week around project / milestone submissions.
