Language change to Expected Outcomes and Deliverables

Can we change the language on experience pages from "Expected Outcomes and Deliverables" as the header to "Potential Outcomes and Deliverables" instead? As more and more AI-generated experiences appear on the platform, I worry the expected outcomes and deliverables section will become misleading for educators and employers. While educators can edit the section after generating the experience, they often do not update it with accurate outcomes and deliverables.

A couple changes in progress here; wizard text updates to make the field requirement more clear, and a notice added to the top of the page to prompt users to review AI generated content. Not actioning the exact request in this ticket, which is why it's being closed though some changes are coming.

Jessica McInnis Do you think this one is a significant issue? Interested in your opinion here based on how much up-front service is involved in experience creation. We need this section to be accurate.

Emily Masching Appreciate you raising this. I think that in general, people use this section quite differently- looking at this section across experience pages will show quite different results. The only instructions I can find that we given in Help are this "Give specific project examples - Companies provide better projects if they are given concrete examples. Avoid being too general, providing detailed examples will give companies a better idea of learner capabilities, and attract higher quality projects.".
In my opinion, the term "deliverable" is quite obvious what we're looking for. Calling them "expected" vs. "potential" is a good discussion- Amanda's point that calling a long list of things as "expected" might be misleading is a good one. At the same time, we may have educators who have highly specific deliverables in mind that would bristle at the idea of of something being called "potential". We could just refer to them as Project Deliverables, and go from there.
I think the term "Outcomes" is the bigger question mark... educators think very specifically in terms of learning outcomes. Is this what we're hoping for in this field? Or do we mean "outcomes" in a different context? Having clearly outlined learning outcomes is a critical component of quality WIL, but is this what we are looking for in this specific field?

Amanda Grinstead we are thinking instead of doing what we do with project templates where we don't let the user advance to the next step until they have made some edit to the field. Would this be an acceptable solution?
We do want educators providing accurate information in that field, I think that's pretty important.

Emily Masching I believe EdSMs often draft the experience pages and some do include language indicating that the deliverables are flexible/negotiable and seek to align with the business and learner needs. I'm not sure if requiring an edit to this section addresses my concern unless there's also a prompt for educators to review the AI-generated deliverables to ensure accuracy and specify which are firm vs. flexible outcomes.

Amanda Grinstead An alternative suggestion I have would be to split this field into two: AI provides the "outcomes" but the educator must input the actual deliverables (eg. a report / a website / etc). Thoughts?

Amanda Grinstead
Emily Masching I'm concerned that the AI would provide outcomes related to the coursework that don't hold value to the employers reading the page. Outcomes pulled directly from the syllabus/course outline often include things like building communication skills, completing a self-reflection paper, working as a team, etc.
In order to convey that outcomes and deliverables are typically flexible and negotiable, could we instead set things up so that this section automatically populates a line in the box that says "Deliverables are flexible and negotiable based on the type of project, and will seek to align the needs of the learners and the organization. Some potential deliverables include:"?
The educator can then edit or remove this sentence if they so choose.
If this is possible, could we also consider putting another auto-populated line in the Project Examples section that says "Learners will work with your business to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis. Project activities that learners can complete may include, but are not limited to:" ?
What do you think?
