Survey scoring
planned

As an educator, I'd like to be able to require surveys from employers that are automatically scored. This allows me to take employer feedback in a more structured way and factor that into my students' overall score.
Original request:
IBU will be using custom feedback questions for employers. They require that each student receive feedback from their supervisor, and this will be weighted for 10% of the student's total grade for their capstone project. Currently, we are using 5-point linear scale questions, as well as a couple of text-response questions. IBU would need to manually add up the scores for each student on platform, then convert this to a percentage score to upload to Canvas. The ability to export feedback for all students into a single spreadsheet could make this much more efficient to calculate for IBU.
We thought about using Competencies since they are automatically scored on a 5-point scale, but Competencies are optional for employers to complete, and there are still some text-responses required, so IBU still needs to rely on Feedback questions.
Additionally, ability to adjust when custom feedback questions are sent to employers would be useful as this time between receipt and institutional grade submission deadlines can be quite tight.

Jordan Ell When we build scoring ability for surveys (which I think is the best solution to Jason's request here), would it be reasonable to extend our plans to allow scoring of employer surveys? i.e. score the team-level employer survey and apply that score to members of the team.
Jordan Ell
Emily Masching I don't think there would be any technical limitation to this solution.

In future we may have the ability to calculate a "score" for surveys which could also be implemented here to calculate a single "score" for custom feedback, that could then be passed back to the LMS automatically. This is at least several months away. In the meantime, a custom report could be created by the data team to calculate the score based on custom feedback for each learner.

Alternatively, a feature to tally up all of the linear-scale response questions automatically would be useful.
